Looking For Something Different. Part 4

A successful Medical Doctor who in recent years has specialised in Natural Medicine, owes much of her success to regular visits to the Wincel Group in Forest Row, East Sussex, UK.

“After some years in Medical practice, I came to the conclusion that the Medical profession and in particular Psychiatry, were moving in the wrong direction. The emphasis was on suppressing symptoms rather than finding the root cause of a problem and handling that.”

“I became increasingly unhappy and frustrated with my chosen profession, notwithstanding the many good things that current medicine was achieving. I sat down to consider my future. My conclusion was that I still wanted to achieve my original three key purposes, namely, to find an ideal job, to be independent and above all to help people.”

“Looking for something different. Part 3”

As the huge jetliner came in to land at Singapore’s Changi airport, a young woman of 37 smiled at the sheer pleasure of having recently achieved her determination, to recover from a serious accident and be once again in the co-pilot’s seat of a major airline’s Airbus 321. She was once again well on her way to eventually Captain her own flight.

As she explained,

“In my youth I was impressed by Albert Einstein’s statement that we humans only use 20% of our mental capacity.  As a result of this I tried anything I could lay my hands on, to expand my mind and awareness.”

“I went to Munich to do meditation and even travelled to the East where I attended a silent retreat. I found it very tough to be silent. My normally ebullient personality felt stifled but I persevered on this path for almost five years before finally realising that I was going nowhere.”

“Looking for something different. Part 2”

On my search for something different I arranged a meeting with Gisela and Karl-Heinz Guenter-Vogel at their delightful late, 19th century home in Forest Row, East Sussex, I was immediately struck by the warmth of their environment on the edge of Ashdown Forest, as well as their dynamic and very contrasting personalities.

I asked Gisela what it was that made her claim that her approach to seeking help was in any way different from so many other people and groups offering solutions to the problems of life.

“The major difference is that we know that every individual has the potential ability to solve his or her own problems but have so often lost sight of that. This in turn leads to a lack of self-confidence and finally hopelessness. What we do is simply guide them back to the point where they can see what their barriers are and how they can overcome them. Basically they heal themselves and we act as guides to that process. It may sound simplistic but it’s not, at least until they can lift the corners of their problem areas. That’s where our major skills come in.”

“Looking for something different. Part 1”

“Fed up with finding one self-help group after another that promised so much but delivered so little, I searched for something that not only had a different approach but was also effective!”

“Don’t get me wrong. I wasn’t desperate and considering jumping off a high building but I was confused and troubled by the crazy world we live in and how it affected my own life. I was also concerned about good friends and family that wanted some relief from the vagaries of life, from losing ones motivation, from failing with personal and work relationships. I wanted some help with my inability to handle certain situations and a feeling of hopelessness.”

“I felt intuitively that life could be better. My innocent dreams that had developed through childhood and had firmed up into more specific and tangible goals seemed to be slipping away.”

“There are endless mentions in the press and the media that offer all the solutions to ones problems. After sampling a few I came to the conclusion that they really didn’t know much more about how to resolve problems than I did myself. The better ones had a particular theme that appeared to be a workable truth. Even if it appeared to work initially, other areas of my life soon crowded back and I returned to square one.”

“The Worst Word”.

What is the one word that has recently pushed itself into the forefront of our current vocabulary?

A dictionary defines anxiety as “Uneasy thoughts or fears over the possibility of coming misfortune”.

We currently live in a world of massive uncertainty. The advent of Covid-19 has placed all our previously predictable futures in jeopardy. There is no way of accurately predicting what our tomorrows will bring. Some say we’ll be practising social distancing for months, even years to come. Others say that the virus will return and the second wave will be more devastating than the first. There are still others who expect that we will recover our economies quickly versus those who foresee the biggest depression in modern history.

Tomorrow’s Question Mark?

Today and for an uncertain number of weeks into the future, Planet Earth is on hold!

We are entering terra incognita – unknown territory. Nobody knows how we will all emerge from the ravages of the Corona Virus.

I have always been known as the eternal optimist and I’m not going to change my tune now. Somehow we will survive but the world of early March 2020 will have changed forever!

Mankind did not survive on this quite hostile planet for as long as we have by being incompetent or stupid. Part of our psyche is incredibly innovative and unlike the other living creatures around us, Mankind has had the innate ability to make a plan when all seems hopeless.

“Improving Body and Soul”

Body and soul is defined in the Collins dictionary as “every part of you, including your mind and emotions”. Somehow, over the centuries, the word “Soul” has been downgraded by many to mean a mere function of the mind.

Fortunately the spiritual element has been retained by most religions although its exact function differs from belief to belief.

So let’s keep it simple here and say that a person has three major working parts – body, mind and spirit (soul if you prefer).

In these troubling times, the focus has been largely upon the body.

Overcoming Past Upsets

Get Back Into the Driver’s Seat Of Your Life

One of our clients, who became a good friend, enrolled in our Life Repair Consultation and had such a drastic, positive personality change that I wanted to share this with you. Here is her story:

“When I met Gisela and Karl-Heinz, I was just pleased to have found people, who were not judging me for how I looked or by the difficulties I had in life. Don’t get me wrong, I wasn’t a wreck by any means, but I wasn’t happy, felt mentally exhausted and it showed in my physical appearance. I looked tired, years older than I actually was and I felt that life was handling me, rather then the other way around. I knew I had lost the ‘spring’ in my step and I wasn’t getting it back by doing nothing.
